I began woodworking when I was a teenager. In the years since, I managed to gather a respectable collection of power and hand tools. Over the years this has allowed me to do a bit of everything, from construction to designing and creating furniture. When we moved to our new ministry in Crossville, Tennessee, I was finally able to realize a dream - a dedicated workshop for all my tools, which included a Shopsmith Mark V bought from a friend for a fraction of its original price. I had long been interested in woodturning, but never tried my hand at it, until August of 2019. I bought a set of inexpensive chisels for wood lathe and started turning bowls on that old Shopsmith. By Christmas, I was turning out special order products for friends. They loved what I was doing, little did anyone know I was caught up in the fires of a new found passion.
January 2020 saw a new arrival to the shop. The Shopsmith proved worthwhile in getting the fires started, but inadequate for where I believe God was taking this new passion. A new Laguna Revo 24/36 arrived. This gem is 100% wood lathe, unlike the Shopsmith, which is multi-purpose. The new acquisition has allowed this passion to grow from a simple hobby to full-fledged expression of art. This website serves as a portfolio, but also as an online store to sell these art pieces.
